As lighting professionals we pay quite a bit of attention to interior trends. Whether it is wallpaper, flooring, furniture or accessory trends, we like to stay in the know because that informs our work with lighting. One trend we have seen a lot lately online and in magazines is an eclectic assortment of rustic accessories and accents in the modern-day home.

The materials popularizing the rustic look right now are brass, leather and raw wood, which you will see plenty of in the five home accessories below:

The uneven seared oak mixed tabletop mixed with the raw metal legs makes this dining room table by Nuevo a must-have for any rustic aficionado. Almost eight feet in width, you could pack a full family around it! And if you love the look enough, there are matching benches to go with it.

This one light pendant by Currey and Company has a copper and antique brass finish. It has enough personality to stand on its own, or you could hang two or three over a kitchen center island (preferably one of reclaimed wood to go with the rustic/modern theme!)

What a great accessory! It’s an entry table by Arteriors and is just under three feet wide. With its burnt wax finish, it would be a great addition to any modern home with a rustic theme to it.

What’s a rustic theme without an animal skull wall hanging? The horns span almost two feet, and the skull is even taller than it is wide. The finish is antique brass and the manufacturer is Arteriors. (If you want a more elegant wall sculpture, check out this one by Cyan).

Manufactured by Lazy Susan, this industrial style chair has expertly crafted leather upholstery by skilled artisans, each stitch being a labor of love. The black iron continuous arm and leg make the chair a sturdy and functional piece of furniture that would look great in your modern rustic home.

What style is your home? IF it’s not already rustic, would you ever like to give this trend a try? The cool thing about the rustic look is that you can mix and match patterns and styles so it never gets boring.
